Set up your headset for viewing VR in the browser

Windows 7/8/10

Oculus: 
  1. Download and install the latest Oculus Runtime
  2. Download and install a Firefox Nightly.  (This is a standalone browser build that won’t interfere with your normal browser.  This won’t be necessary once the WebVR protocol is standardized. )
  3. Install the Firefox VR add-on
  4. Navigate to the VR Video Player
  5. Put on your headset and enjoy!

 


 

Mac OS

Oculus: 
  1. Download and install the latest Oculus Runtime for OS X.
  2. Download and install a WebVR enabled version of Firefox.  (These are standalone browser builds that won’t interfere with your normal browser.  This step won’t be necessary once the WebVR protocol is standardized )
  3. If you have a DK2, go to your Mac OS’s System Preferences.  In the Hardware section, select Displays and, in the window that launches, select the Arrangement tab.  Check the box for “Mirror Displays”.  Still on the Arrangements tab, double-click on the relevant display graphic to launch the Rift DK2 settings window, which you may need to drag from the DK2 display to your computer display.  In this window, set the DK2 rotation to 90° and refresh rate to 60 Hertz.  (You can ignore this step if you have a DK1.)
  4. Navigate to the VR Video Player
  5. Put on your headset and enjoy!

 


 

Mobile

Android:

Simply use the standard internet browser or preferably the newest version of chrome for mobile

iPhone/iPod/iPad:

Navigate to the VR Video Player and download the Webapp to your homescreen
